Every Negative Moment has a Positive Lesson

Every Negative Moment has a Positive Lesson

I know this is hard to comprehend but I am going to say it, “Every negative moment in life has a positive aspect that can be found.”  Your attitude dictates how you respond during times of adversity.  Sometimes in your roughest moments you see what you’re made of, you see how people reach out to you, and you see those who want to help you—those that care.  Perhaps that is something you need to see.

The last 48 hours were a bit hectic.  My car was broken into, I’m in finals week for college, and I manage to ruin a throw rug at my house—all random, but stressful all the same.  From these situations, I found out my car will be more than taken care of with insurance coverage.  My finals have gone extremely well, redefining why I decided on multicultural psychology as my field of study.  Lastly, with the rug, while I looked at my partner thinking he would be mad about the mess, he instead cleaned it up… In fact throughout all of these random stressful moments he kept me calm—even held me when I came home after the break-in.  These are the moments, in the most trying of times that mean the most. Knowing your friends, family, and partner are supporting you, no matter what that may look like: a phone call, a hug, a Facebook message saying hi, an ear to vent to.

When walking through this life, though it may not seem apparent with every situation there are positives at work.  After all the craziness of this week, I feel so happy to know that I made it through.  I realized just how much support I have and I am so grateful to have received the lessons I did.
