Family Ties

Family Ties

Life has a way of sending you lessons, tests, aha moments, and when experiencing these, it is always great to have someone close to you who understands, supports, cheers you on, and at times, is willing to help you get to the other side of these learning segments in your growth process.

There are people like this in your life all over whether you recognize it or not.  They are your wings, your guiding hands, your shoulder to cry on, they are your family.  These people may be blood, may be close friends, colleagues but they know who you are.

They understand how you define yourself and family has a lot to do with that construction.  I love my family.  They know the best of me and the worst of me and yet they love all of me-everything that comes with it. No matter how much money you make, awards, or stature, nothing comes close to that kind of love.  I cry with joy at times, so appreciative, so grateful for knowing that I have this type of love in my life-the kind without limits or boarders.

Know that everyone has the possibility of such love, whether it is a friend, family member, or partner.  We all have the capability to love and be loved.  All we have to do is open ourselves up to it, surrender.  I remember my pity parties getting the better of me when I was younger, "No one truly loves me," I would say and I had created my reality. But it was my parents' words that would quickly change my mind and train of thought.  They would say, "I will always love you dear one." My parents taught me the importance of self-love, a valuable lesson for everyone.

When going through the several moments in life on your own, remember your family, whoever they are, and know that you have someone who will be there for you during those tough lessons, tests, aha moments and experiences.  Know that you are loved and never, ever alone.
