Inner Voice

Following My Inner Voice
inner voice

There are moments in life that will make you stop still in your tracks.

These moments can be a number of different things: you break a bone, a loved one lost, a family member has cancer, you have cancer, a person in your life was violated or attacked, you were violated or attacked; scary moments that you never thought would happen but they did...

In those times you feel your mind shatter, your heart stop, your blood run cold, and your breath caught... stuck in your throat.  I experienced one of these moments recently.

While I felt sad and scared at the time, there was an inner voice that told me I would make it through.  Do you ever have that-the whisper in your head giving you answers, guidance, the will to keep getting up in the morning and going to bed at night?  Do you listen and disregard or listen and take to charge?  That is your intuition talking.

LISTEN and LEARN!  Your inner voice is trying to teach you something, warn you and help you.  Your intuition is your compass, your North star, your lighthouse in the storm, and it will not fail you if you trust it.  Your inner voice will alert you when something is wrong, right or otherwise. It is your body's way of saying, "Yes, I am aware of you and your experience.  Here is what will help you right now!"

You're inner voice is whispering...listen...

Your Inner Voice

Following Your Inner Voice

I once met a man and he gave the best advice, so I will pass it on....

When you need to make a decision take a quarter.  Think of what you have been struggling with.  Now phase the thought so it is a yes or no, positive or negative. Then, throw the quarter and for that split second say what your heart wished for.  It is one way to truly know what is going on in your heart-the deepest part of you. In our society we spend so much time listing to other peoples' opinions and expectations of us.  We forget to check-in and find out what it is that we really think and feel.  The truest part of ourselves whispers, so you need to quiet everything else and give that voice a chance to be heard.

You and I, all of us are meant for great things.  We are capable of greatness, if we follow our inner voice, (that amazingly wise part of us).  We will do what we are meant to do-our divine purpose.  So throw the quarter and see what you wish for, what your passionate about and then go for it!  I think of that inner voice as a compass and if you pay attention you will be able to find your way.  If you get lost it will lead you back to the right path.

I personally find that it speaks more in feelings then words, having a practice of checking in with yourself on a regular basis, helps you tune in and balance.  So, find a quarter, your compass and have a blessed journey.

In closing I would like to share a quote that has a profound effect on me, about finding your way through life, and we are the heroes of our own lives.
"Furthermore we have not even to risk the adventure alone, for the heroes of all time have gone before us. The labyrinth is thoroughly known.  We have only to follow the thread of the hero path, and where we had thought to find an abomination, we shall find God.  Where we had thought to slay another, we shall slay ourselves.  Where we had thought to travel outward, we will come to the center of our own existence.  And where we had thought to be alone, we will be with all the world." -Joseph Campbell
