Divine Table 9: How we meet

This was one of those moments that none of us women would or could have anticipated.  This is what I call a Maui Miracle, a divine appointment or a synchronistic event that could have only been coordinated by the divine creator.

Saba, Tasha, Jen, I and many other beautiful women all met on a Hay House Cruise because we all had a burning passion inside of us.  We all had a book to share with the world.  I know that the reason we met was because we all DECIDED to listen to our hearts' desire.  From that space, the beginning of Divine Table 9 was born.

All of us ladies came from different parts of the United States.  California, Washington, Maui, New York, and much more.  We would listen to the great authors and mentors during the day at a workshop and at night, we would sit together at a round table for dinner.

After a week of laughter and heart-felt conversations around the dinner table that was labeled TABLE 9, we decided to stay in touch and encourage each other as we parted from this divine table. 

I remember one night saying this is DIVINE TABLE 9 after so many synchronistic events and connections between us ladies.  

The name has stuck and we all have encouraged each other to listen to our hearts, follow our dreams and be all we can be.  I am blessed to be friends and sisters to these incredible women at Divine Table 9.

They are my mastermind partners, my aces and we hold the space of possibilities for each other.  That I am so thankful for. A special thanks to HayHouse for attracting so many beautiful souls on the Writer Workshop Cruise.  Without Louise Haye's passion for her publishing company, we would not have Divine Table 9.  For that reason, I believe Louise is the head of the table.  She paved the way with her courage and today our Divine Table 9  stands on a foundation of courage that is beyond measure.

Once upon a time in a cold, dark and stormy night in Canada…but really in Jan 2010, I received an email from HayHouse.com saying they were putting on a writers cruise. This was a dream come true. I had wanted to go on a cruise as long as I could remember. You add in HayHouse.com publishing company, who specialized in spiritual self help books, how could it get more amazing.

Being a single mom meant I had to come up with interesting ways to come up with funds to go. With generosity and luck (Air Canada tickets for $75 dollars from Ottawa to Fort Lauderdale, each way) basically being blessed by many people, it was happening.

I was terrified on the plane, as it was my first flight. I remember praying to god to take care of Abby, my daughter, if I died on the plane.

When I got on the HayHouse.com cruise, I was placed with the most amazing lady, Margarita as my roommate. She was wonderful and we had so many things in common. There was an ease with each other that I have rarely found with someone instantaneously. We went down to dinner and we where placed at table 9, with mostly young women. Women that I now have the pleasure to call my friends. These women are so effulgent and so beautiful. They are passionately pursuing there own divine missions with unique perspectives.

The entire week was life changing on so many fronts for me. I learned about tapping from Jessica Ortner and how to dance from Tasha Ina Church. These women regardless of where they came from changed me. 

Now today looking back, I see still so much more of an impact they have made in my life and hayhouse.com. 

 I know as our relationship continues they will continue to help and change me by their words and support in my life.

I see so many wonderful events in the future, YouTube, more blogs and hopefully by next June 6^th my book, The Crystalline Self.

Table 9: The Experience of a Lifetime

 
I remember the moment I decided to go on the publishing cruise. It was a sudden decision I made right around my birthday and I excitedly waited for the time to come. I’d decided to take a chance and treat myself and I was rewarded for my courage. Yes, it took courage! I didn’t even think about it like that initially. Then, I listened to the reaction from others when they heard that I went on that cruise…alone. I was excited for the adventure of being in new places and learning new things, but I did not know that the adventure would be in the wonderful women I would meet.

The adventure was a combination of bonding with my roommate, meeting the other amazing women that sat at table 9, and experiencing the adventures around the Caribbean islands with wonderful new friends. On the ship, those who were there for the workshop gathered each night for dinner. The first day, we had assigned tables, which allowed us to get acquainted with one another. Along with my roommate, I took my assigned seat at table 9, where I met several young women with purpose, vision, and drive. From day one, it felt as though our seats were divinely assigned.

To all the women of Table 9: Thank you for the experience of a lifetime!

D9: THE BEGINNING

I was working on finalizing my children’s book and was unsure what my next move would be.  How do I get published?  Where do I go from here? That was when my mother called me wanting to talk about this publishing cruise she had heard of, first explaining what that was. 

A publishing cruise? Hayhouse, a publishing company focused mostly on wellness books, was putting on a conference with amazing speakers who would explain how to get your book published…the next step…I was resistant thinking of a week at sea, when I hadn’t even spent a day on the ocean.   

Do I have motion sickness?  I don’t even know.  Will I miss seeing land?  Also, my book is not a self-help book.  Would this be beneficial for me?  These were some of the thoughts that rolled through my mind, but my mother strongly urged me to take the trip.  She has always been extremely intuitive when it comes to decision making.  

So, I made preparations to go, flying into Fort Lauderdale Florida.  Then from there, I loaded onto a giant ship called the Emerald Princess, signing my life away for at least the next week.  This cruise ship was the gigantic.  I felt like I was in the movie “Titanic”, but instead of men in suits and woman in long gowns, it was Hawaiian shirts and day dresses.  I dropped off my bag on the bed I wanted and began exploring the cruise, getting the lay of the land.  Soon, it was time for dinner and I went back to my room.  My stuff was moved and my roommate had taken the bed...so many thoughts ran through my mind. 'Oh no, I'm gonna hate her... what if she's a big partier?... I'm not going to sleep all week...'  

Then I met her, miss Amadella Clarke.  She was fun, lively, and could talk for hours.  I quickly forgot about "my bed" and new I had made a friend for life. The day was June 6th and it was at that dinner table, Table 9, that I met extraordinary women.  We spent a week conversing, debating, laughing, and synergizing.  I felt alive!   New air seemed to quickly move through my lungs.  We kept running into each other throughout the ship and each time we did, we would have in depth conversations for hours.  

These women were unique, creative, beautiful, and smart.  They impacted my life and filled a void.  I knew that this was a pinnacle in my life, a new beginning, and that these women had changed me for the better…forever.

My hope is that we will do the same for you.

How Divine Table 9 Came About:

I remember shopping to get ready to go on my writers workshop cruise and thinking I needed to dress down or cover up because I will possibly be around serious people and an older/mature group.  

To my surprise after being assigned a seat for dinner, table 9, I was surrounded by fun, outspoken, wise, beautiful, and youthful women. It felt so good to have deep, spiritual, intellectual conversations with these inspiring authors that I had a major break through and ideas. For one, I noticed these women were what I was lacking back in the “real world” and then a light bulb went off. I thought to myself, 'if I need this, who else?'

I later tossed the idea for us to blog in the air and it floated across the room and gathered more & more ideas. Divine Table 9 was then born! We knew there was no coincidence to why we met. We knew that this would also be a way for us all to stay connected.

There was a time when I had such a disconnection with my "party all the time" self and inspiring spiritual author. I thought I needed to be “ridged” to be respected but when I met these ladies my way of thinking was changed. I could be “myself” and be spiritual.

We had a ball and ended our Caribbean Cruise with a bang and a sing a long of “We are family!” (You had to be there LOL)

The inspired ideas I took from that cruise is almost everything I put my heart into today.  So thank you to the incredible women of Divine Table 9!
