Following your dreams
And what my dreams
Mean to Me
"Follow your spirit without hesitation and you will see light where others only see darkness."
-Jeff Alexander, Warrior Spirit
Everyone has dreams, goals, aspirations, hopes, and desires for our future or even for our present. We are constantly looking for that key next step, the guiding tool which will lead us to true happiness and bliss.
Let me tell you of a real live moment yesterday which aligns with these dreams. It took place at a very crucial time in my life, making my heart stop. First I need to tell you, I have been working on a book for close to five years but have been dreaming of it since I was a little girl. It is finally finished and coming out this fall. This is one of those life passions that you work on and you put your whole heart into. After really coming to grips with the reality of how much I've put into this project, I began to panic.
What's going to happen? I've worked so hard on this book and it has meant so much. When I'm done what will I do? Will it have the response I want and will I give the message I intend for it to have? I began to feel the knots notch up and coil in my stomach. Then when I was frozen and couldn't hear anything else around me, just the voice inside my head
questioning, I thought of the many years I have waited for this moment.
The book is done. What a great accomplishment and feeling to know that I didn't give up when there were thousands of times that I felt frustrated or tired. This was not only my current reality it had been my dream, a dream I couldn't let die.

Once looking at the current situation and staring fear in the face (and with a little guidance from friends), I realized I am doing exactly what I want to with my life and have loved the moments that have led up to my present because I have learned so much. Our dreams are there for a reason.
Some dreams are milestones, others are a driving force that will last a lifetime.
Follow your dreams no matter what they are: being able to dance again, moving into that home you've always wanted, finally talking to that guy or girl you just can't stop thinking about, or publishing that book. Whatever it is that you are thinking of accomplishing set up ways to make your reality so and believe it will happen because without that all you're left with is doubt and the what ifs that could haunt you forever. It is amazing what you can do if you put your mind to it!
